PowerPoint basics 2 – pictures, charts and presenting

In PowerPoint Basics the participants learn how to create effective presentations with as little time and effort as possible  

Goal 

In this training you you learn how to use visual content to liven up your presentation, like process- and pie charts, how to use images better and how to present a presentation to an audience locally or online. 

Target audience 

This course is recommended for beginner level PowerPoint users and users wishing to improve their efficiency with PowerPoint. We recommend starting with PowerPoint Basics 1 before this course. 

Program version

This course is suitable for PowerPoint versions from 2010 or newer, both Windows and Mac versions. 

Content 

Visualizing the images 

• Where do I get images from? Adding images from my own files or from the web or from stock photos 
• How can I crop or edit my image? Enchasing images using crop, styles and image effects 

Visualizing with charts 

• How do I present my idea visually? How to replace regular text slides with charts, such as a process or cycle chart and how to transform text straight into a SmartArt chart 
• Can I improve the looks of my charts? Color and styles with SmartArt 

Presenting with PowerPoint 

• How do I hook up my computer with a projector? Connecting to a projector and setting up the image 
• How to start a presentation? Opening presenter view 
• How do I actually control a presentation with PowerPoint? Opening your presentation, moving from slide to slide and closing the presentation 
• Presenting PowerPoint on a shared screen in an online meeting
